Bdog is back home! Her cats couldn't be happier. Well, they could, but it would involve me getting rid of JackRabbit and more fattening food on a daily basis, but that ain't gonna happen. Of course, she brought shortbread cookies back from England, so *I'm* getting the fattening food.
I'm really getting into the planning for the Russia trip. The State dept. and most the government travel sites recommend leaving a copy of your itinerary with someone in the states so that they know where you are at all times. HA! I, the queen of vacation planning, will leave a color-coded daily schedule with my roommate. Of course, if you've ever traveled with me you know that I'm a get-the-plan-in-place-then-go-with-the-flow kinda girl. I'm all about flexibility.
Been reading dooce.com. She kills me. I love these people who can be this open all the time. Many thanks to HGL & ETK for introducing me. And the lighting, she has such fabulous lighting for her photographs. Oh how it makes me miss using my SLR!
For those who are interested in my musical plans. Mary Gauthier (pronounced go-shay, for those of you who are French-challenged like me) this Saturday night in Athens (yes, yes, yes AW, I am going!), Scott Miller on April 8th, and (drum roll please) Todd Snider (aka the singer/songwriter who introduced me to the music that I love) at Eddie's on April 15th.
Of course, there's a family dilemma with the Todd show: April 13th is my baby brother's birthday and each year we have a party the weekend after his birthday. My oldest brother's birthday is the 14th, so it's a big ole' family reunion. So (you ask), why don't you just bring the birthday boys to the show, you? Well, Goober will be 11 and last I checked that's ten years short of being legally able to attend this Todd show. Not to mention that he is totally not into my music right now. It's all hip-hop and rap for him. I would discourage it, but my parents are doing that, so I figure it's best to not join the parental party. So I've got to work out how I'm going to go to my parent's (five hours drive) and make it back to Eddie's in time for the show. I need a plan.
