The Filly at the cat show.

About two weeks ago, the Filly became a big sister. BDog (aka Madrina, who is the Filly's Godmother) wanted to take her down to the cat show which was in town for the weekend. Bossmare agreed - the Filly has been getting a little cabin fever with all the commotion of a new sister. BDog asked me to go with, how could I resist? The Filly's 22 mos old now and at my favorite stage: the one where they will repeat anything you ask them to say. Side note: I did get to see Lil' Gator (the new lil' sis); she is most sweet.

Due to Atlanta traffic (on a Saturday, no less) we got to the cat show about a hour before it closed for the evening. At first, the manager wasn't going to let us (or the other woman that walked up at the same time) buy tickets, since (as he repeated 3 times, in case we were ignoring him) the cat show was closing in an hour. BDog protested that the Filly wasn't going to last more than an hour and the other lady protested that she had "driven all this way!!!" So the big softy let us in for free.

We took a few photos, looked at a few cats, and (mostly) chased the Filly around. She was very well behaved and really, really, really wanted to "pet them, pet them, pet them."

First we went to look at the Cornish Rexes since the Filly has a one at home. She quickly identified them all as "Two Bits" and really wanted to pet them. No one offered to let her pet them. They did try to sell us one...

We then went to look at the Maine Coons. My friend, The Greatest Music Fan Ever(tm) once said that JackRabbbit looked like a Maine Coon, except she just wasn't the right size. Now I see what she means, JackRabbit weighs in at a slender 6 lbs; these prize kitties could eat JackRabbit for a snack. The big fella in the photos was taller than the Filly.

One of the owners asked the Filly if she'd like to pet one and "chess, chess" (yes!) was the immediate answer. She was so excited she was almost shaking - hopping from one foot to the other.

The lady even offered to have the cat "hug" her. Oh the joy!

There weren't many people there by the time we left and we wanted the Filly to run off some energy before we started the hour+ drive home, so we turned her loose in the lobby. There was running, jumping, and bouncing.

The tongue helps you balance. Seriously.

Super cute picks. Nice to know you have enough time not to work.
